On-demand laundry apps are quietly becoming a big business

Been noticing a lot of laundry and dry-cleaning shops moving away from phone bookings into full app-based pickup and delivery. Makes sense really, nobody wants to call a shop and wait on hold when they could just book a pickup in two taps and track it the same way they track a food order.

What's interesting is how close the backend is to ride-hailing or grocery delivery apps. Same core pieces: scheduling, live tracking, pickup assignment, and in-app payments. Some setups even add subscription plans for regular customers, which seems like a smart retention move for a recurring-use service like laundry.

I was reading up on Laundry app development recently and the space is growing faster than I expected, especially in cities where on-demand services are still catching on. Curious if anyone here has used a laundry app as a customer, or looked into building one. How does it compare to the old pickup-and-drop routine?
